SAN FRANCISCO (KRON)— The NBA announced on Thursday which players will start this season’s All-Star Game, and Stephen Curry was not included.
The Western Conference guards chosen over Curry were the Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic and the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Curry has started nine of the last ten All-Star games.
Bay FC announces schedule for the upcoming first season.
Curry averages 26.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. Gilgeous-Alexander and Doncic both average more than 31 points per game and have more rebounds and assists than Curry. Both the Thunder and the Mavericks have better records than the Warriors.
Starters are chosen using a combination of fan, player, and media voting.
Curry can still make the game as a backup. The reserves will be disclosed at a later date.
The Golden State Warriors player has been nominated to nine All-player games, starting all of them. He has appeared in every game since 2014, with the exception of 2020, when he was limited to five due to a hand injury.
Former MVPs LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Nikola Jokic round out the Western Conference All-Stars.
