Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs wore smart suits in a picture to showcase the team’s captains for the 2024 playoffs.
Along with them, the Chiefs chose four other players from various positions for captaincy. Cornerback L’Jarius Sneed, defensive tackle Chris Jones, kicker Harrison Butker, and punter Tommy Townsend have all joined the team.
Kelce recently discussed the honor of being elected captain as the team enters the playoffs in search of their second consecutive championship.
‘I believe coach [Andy] Reid does the captains deal for the team a little bit differently than a lot of other coaches in the league,’ Kelce explained. ‘Throughout the year, we have several captains. Every game day, the captains change.
‘When it comes to the playoffs, he lets the players vote on who the captains are and who the people are who have risen throughout the season and will lead us into a fight for the rest of the season.
