Travis Kelce has revealed when his and Taylor Swift’s romance began! According to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, the two had been getting to know each other for several weeks before she went to his game against the Chicago Bears on September 24, 2023.
“We had known each other for close to a month up until that point,” Kelce, 34, stated in an interview with The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday. Three days before Swift went to the Chiefs-Bears game, Kelce said on The Pat McAfee Show that he “threw the ball in her court” and invited her to watch him play. On Wednesday, he admitted that when he stated it on the show, he knew she’d come to see him perform.
“It wasn’t just an out-of-the-blue, ‘Hey, come to the game,'” he said. Swift, 34, has attended 12 Kelce games since his debut appearance. “I enjoy it when Taylor comes to support me and watch the game with his family and friends.” “It has been nothing but a fantastic year, man,” he told McAfee.
Although the attention his relationship has generated is “brand new,” he says he is loving it. “You know, it’s been a crazy, crazy ride that I could have never anticipated,” he told me. “But I’m having fun with it.” Aside from cranky NFL supporters who don’t want the Chiefs to win, most of the world is having a wonderful time.
Rumors of a relationship arose after the athlete attended the singer’s Eras Tour at Arrowhead Stadium and attempted to give her his phone number. “If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” he told his brother Jason on their New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce podcast in July.
Kelce stated he was “a little butthurt” and that he didn’t get to give her the personalized bracelet because she was too busy preparing for the program.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” he remarked. During an interview with the December/January issue of WSJ Magazine, he confessed that he admires her work ethic and that they share something in common.
His work ethic is the reason he will not be attending the Grammys on Sunday. He informed McAfee. “I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys and watch her win every single award that she’s nominated for but I think I got practice on Sunday,” she said.
Kelce and the Chiefs will take on the San Francisco 49ers on February 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Swift is nominated for six Grammys, including album, record, and song of the year.
