The Golden State Warriors take on the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City on Thursday evening.
The Warriors have announced their starting lineup (h/t Underdog NBA).Klay Thompson, a five-time NBA All-Star, will come off the bench, which is a huge departure from the team’s typical starting lineup.According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Brandon Podziemski will start in place of Klay Thompson tonight in Utah. Thompson is not yet listed on the injury report, so he appears to be coming off the bench. The starting lineup is Steph Curry, Podziemski, Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, and Draymond Green.Underdog NBA provided additional information.According to the NBA’s Underdog: “This will be the first time since Klay Thompson’s rookie season back in March 2012 that he’ll come off the bench.”Thompson has appeared in 49 games and averages 17.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, shooting 41.5% from the field and 36.8% from three-point range.In 46 games, Podziemski has averaged 9.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists while shooting 46.5% from the field and 38.3% from three.The Warriors are the tenth seed in the Western Conference, with a 26-26 record after 52 games.They had been on a five-game winning streak until falling to James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers 130-125 at home on Wednesday evening.Following their game against the Jazz, the Warriors will host the Los Angeles Lakers at Chase Centre on February 22.
