Nikola Jokic’s two-year-old daughter, Ognjena, stole the show during the Colorado Avalanche game on Tuesday.
The Denver Nuggets star was to Ball Arena to cheer his NHL teammates as they faced the Vancouver Canucks. Jokic was seen on the jumbotron during the second period, enjoying the action.
Ognjena also appeared to enjoy herself, as she smiled and clapped along with the throng. Another video showed her standing on Nikola’s lap, cheering.
Jokic was wearing an Avalanche hat as he got ‘MVP’ cheers from Denver fans.
The 2023 NBA Finals MVP, like his daughter, was overcome with joy when they were greeted warmly by the Avalanche supporters.
The Nuggets drafted the Serbian center in 2015, and he has spent his whole NBA career in Denver. In 2023, he led the Nuggets to their first NBA title, defeating the Miami Heat in the Finals.
Aside from his postseason accomplishments, Jokic was chosen regular season MVP in 2021 and 2022. He has also received six All-Star and five All-NBA honors.
Jokic is averaging nearly a triple-double this season, with 26.1 points, 12 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game. He accomplishes this by shooting at 57.7% from the field.
The defending NBA champions now have a 36-19 record and are fourth in the Western Conference.
Meanwhile, the Avalanche defeated the Canucks 3-1, bringing their record to 35–18–4. They are now second in the Central Division, 74 points behind the Dallas Stars.
