On Thursday night, Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic earned his 16th triple-double of the season in the team’s victory over the Washington Wizards. In doing so, he accomplished a remarkable milestone shared by only two other NBA players: LeBron James and Russell Westbrook.
Jokic’s impressive effort against Washington marked his first triple-double versus the Wizards. As a result, the 29-year-old has achieved a triple-double against every squad he has faced in his career.
The Nuggets are the only club in the NBA that has not allowed Jokic to record a triple-double, putting him in elite company alongside James and Westbrook.
In just 650 career games, Jokic ranks fourth in NBA history with 121 regular-season triple-doubles, including 16 in the playoffs. He has now overtaken James (110) in terms of career points, trailing only Westbrook (198), Oscar Robertson (181), and Magic Johnson (138).
He doesn’t appear to have many unfavorable matchups, given that there isn’t a single squad he hasn’t stuffed the stat sheet against. The New Orleans Pelicans have suffered the most from Jokic’s flexibility throughout his career, with 10 triple-doubles against them in just 29 games.
