Garth Brooks, a country music singer, invited Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce to the opening of his new pub in Nashville, Tennessee.
Brooks’ Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk will debut on March 7 in Nashville, according to People.
“Have you seen Travis Kelce’s version of ‘Friends in Low Places?’ Have you seen him sing this? “I loved it, I thought it was fantastic,” Brooks remarked during a recent edition of his weekly live series on TalkShopLive called “Inside Studio G,” People reported.
Brooks made the comment after seeing Kelce play his song at the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2024 Super Bowl parade, according to People.
“It blew me away because I was sitting there watching it go down, correct? “I never expected that,” he explained.
Brooks stated that he and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, have no plans to attend the bar’s debut, but they may do so if Kelce does, according to Billboard.
“Big man, I am just telling you this. “I’ll be at the grand opening if you’re there,” Brooks told Billboard. “I’ll send a jet if you want another chance at the crown. If you want to come and sing it, I will send an aircraft. You can come alone or with your brother or gang, whichever you like. Remember that the plane has a capacity of 11. So, certainly, I’d be delighted to extend you this invitation if you want to try a little ‘Friends in Low Places’ in Friends in Low Places.”
Brooks stated that Kelce’s performance of his song was not as good as his performance of an Elvis Presley song after the Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII.
“I thought he was fantastic,” Brooks told the Kansas City Star. “It came in second, but when he won the Super Bowl, the ‘Viva Las Vegas’ was amazing. It was fantastic. I love him. I love his sibling and his mother. It’s all good.
