The Denver Nuggets defeated the Golden State Warriors 119-103 on Sunday night, with Nikola Jokić making history.
Jokić now has the fourth most career triple-doubles in NBA history, with 32 points, 16 assists, and 16 rebounds, surpassing LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers.
He is only surpassed by Russell Westbrook, Oscar Robertson, and Magic Johnson in terms of career scoring.
Jokić has recorded 139 triple-doubles in 719 regular-season and playoff games, while James has 138 in 1,753 games.
The Nuggets star now needs 15 more triple-doubles to overtake Magic Johnson for third place on the NBA’s all-time list.
Jokić achieved at least 30 points, 15 assists, and 15 rebounds for the third time in a game on Sunday, surpassing Wilt Chamberlain’s record of two.
Jokić has achieved a triple-double in three consecutive games, all in just three quarters.
This is also the second time he has set a record with his stats this week.
Jokić scored 21 points, 19 rebounds, and 15 assists in a win over the Washington Wizards on Thursday, achieving a triple-double against all NBA teams. Only James and Russell Westbrook can say the same.
