While we wait for the 77th NBA regular season to begin in the middle of October, Kyrie Irving has been spotted showing off the new Nike (NYSE:NKE -1.03%) Kyrie 9 at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles. The Brooklyn Nets point guard participated in a scrimmage alongside Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks, Cole Anthony of the Orlando Magic, and Scottie Barnes of the Toronto Raptors, to mention a few.
We get to see a sneak peek of the newest installment in action, thanks of Moving Pictures. The design has a mid-top construction with red accents running from the Swoosh to the eyestays, and what look to be translucent mesh uppers in a mostly white attire. A handwritten signature rests on the midsole, and a Zoom Air unit cushions the forefoot. In honour of her birthday, August 13, Irving’s mother Elizabeth Ann wrote words in the interiors, which are matched by an embroidered roman number pattern on the heel, VIII XIII.
Irving responded to Slam Kicks’ Instagram post suggesting that the release might actually be the eighth edition of his signature range, even though the silhouette is now referred to as the ninth. This is because the unreleased design was shelved despite Irving wearing them for the previous season. Irving tweeted the November 11, 2022, release date as he carried on with his reporting on the shoe. Nike has not yet verified these particulars.
