Throughout his career, Andre Iguodala seen Golden State Warriors legend Stephen Curry in the clutch multiple times, but Iguodala would look to another guy for big shots.

Iguodala stated in an interview with The Ryen Russillo Podcast that he would prefer Dallas Mavericks point guard Kyrie Irving to his former colleague if he needed a last-second shot.

“Kyrie Irving, it’s not even close,” Iguodala said. “For the last-second shot, I’m going with Kyrie. You’re talking about fear factor at any given moment or for like that moment, Kyrie.

Iguodala said that for him, it comes down to Curry’s weakness when he’s double-teamed. He believes Irving has the ability to score no matter what when the game is on the line.

“With Steph, I think he’s shown, at least proven, to teams that you can double him and if you can just try to get the ball out of his hands, then I guess that’s the way to combat him,” Iguodala said. “But with Kyrie, he’s just so good. You can’t get the ball out of his hands. Allen Iverson said Kyrie was the best ball-handler in NBA history. And I’ve been told that I was crazy for saying that. But with Kyrie, you talk about fear factor, you ask anybody in the league, that’s a scary guy to see.”

Irving has been the one to make clutch baskets against Iguodala. When Irving was still a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals, he made a three-pointer in the closing seconds that sealed the Cavs’ victory in Game 7 and the championship.

Curry has made his fair share of clutch shots, but Iguodala may have given Irving the nod because of Irving’s incredible three-point shot.
