With an 11-0 record overall versus the two legends, Nikola Jokic has won his previous five games against Stephen Curry and his past six games against LeBron James.
Since everyone can see that Nikola Jokic is currently in his own category as the top player in the NBA, the debate about who the best player in the league is becoming meaningless. His record against LeBron James and Stephen Curry, two of the greatest players in the NBA right now, further illustrates this. In his last 11 games, the reigning Finals MVP has not lost to either James or Curry.
Including their two regular-season wins over the Lakers this season and their four-game sweep in the 2023 Western Conference Finals, Jokic has won his last six games versus LeBron James. Jokic does equally well against the best shooter of all time, Stephen Curry, with a current 5-0 run against him. When his records are added together, he hasn’t lost any of the previous 11 games versus either player.
He has also been incredibly dominant during this streak. In their last six games versus LeBron and the Lakers, Jokic has averaged 27.3 points, 14.0 rebounds, and 11.2 assists, which is close to a triple-double. Jokic continues to average a triple-double with 29.8 points, 13.2 rebounds, and 11.0 assists over the last five games, so Steph and the Warriors don’t fare much better.
This unequivocally demonstrates that a new era of basketball has arrived. It’s obvious that LeBron’s Lakers and Steph’s Warriors, who are currently vying for the ninth and tenth seeds, are done with their era of unmatched supremacy and four straight NBA Finals meetings.
Draymond Green Was Astonished by Nikola Jokic’s Display
After the Nuggets defeated the Warriors 119-103, Jokic was forced to play against Draymond Green in their most recent game. Draymond was left with no choice but to compliment Jokic’s performance on his podcast following what turned out to be a historic showing by the player.
“I’ve faced the Joker in a number of strong matchups. He has given me a little hell on certain evenings, but tonight he gave me the whole damn hell. I had no answers at all. You either laugh or you cry, so I’m simply going to chuckle about it. Tonight, I had no answers at all. He was exceptionally intelligent.”
Green continued speaking about their encounter that evening, praising Jokic’s current training and form. He also talked about a conversation that happened on the court between the two after Green wrapped Jokic up during a play. Each participant quickly resolved any argument and continued playing.
The Nuggets defeated the Warriors 119-103 inside the Chase Centre, led by a huge performance by Jokic, who finished with 32 points, 16 rebounds, 16 assists, and four steals. Jokic is unmatched in the current NBA, and it’s frighteningly obvious that most teams are unable to compete with him or the Nuggets.
Jokic, who is presently considered the MVP favorite, is averaging 26.1 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 9.3 assists this season.
