Travis Kelce has signed a new sponsorship contract with Subway, appearing in the fast food chain’s latest commercial alongside Patrick Mahomes, just weeks after his managers expressed concern that he was becoming too popular and promised that any new deal this year will prioritize ‘authenticity first’.
Taylor Swift’s boyfriend posted his latest ad campaign with Subway on Instagram on Thursday, which largely features the Chiefs’ star quarterback touting his love of combining subs with the chain’s new footlong cookie.
Standing as the camera’s main focus, Mahomes added, ‘There’s nothing better than a Subway footlong. Except when you introduce a fresh footlong sidekick. Like a boss, the new footlong cookie…
‘This might be my favourite sidekick ever,’ the two-time Super Bowl champion said, as the camera focused on Kelce, who was clearly shocked and stunned when his buddy replaced him with a snack.
But, feelings aside, Kelce has his own favourite small – or rather huge – Subway treat: the sweet footlong churro, as he uploaded a photo of himself with the Spanish pastry on Instagram story.
Kelce pretended to be wounded by his quarterback’s statements that the chain’s new footlong cookie sandwich’might be his favourite sidekick ever’, as he revealed his affection for the footlong churro on his Instagram Story.
Zinedine Zidane declared the only three clubs he would manage, with 156.2k views so far.
Mahomes and Kelce have been one of the most successful duos in NFL history, having just surpassed Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski’s career record of 16 postseason touchdowns during last Sunday’s AFC Divisional round victory against the Buffalo Bills.
Kelce’s latest deal with Subway is just one of several he has signed in the previous two years, as he promotes himself in commercials for Experian, Pfizer, and State Farm.
In reality, Mahomes appeared in the insurance giant’s ad last year, which simply depicted the couple’s love outside of the NFL.
Kelce has had an unbelievable ascent to stardom after winning his second Super Bowl in five seasons last year.
Kelce’s managers, André (L) and Aaron (R) Eanes, have meticulously built up his media persona.
He hosted ‘Saturday Night Live’ after the Chiefs defeated his brother’s Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII, and he is currently dating Taylor Swift, one of the world’s most famous pop stars.
Earlier this month, the tight end’s managers, Andre and Aaron Eanes of A&A Management, told the New York Times that they are concerned that if Kelce is featured in too many media outlets, the world may grow accustomed to his presence.
The Eanes brothers, who signed Kelce as the company’s second client, informed the publication that immediately after the New Year, all parties agreed to bring fewer transactions with an emphasis on ‘quality over number’ and ‘authenticity first’.
In addition to his name, the NFL athlete is reportedly attempting to trademark his Instagram account, ‘Killlatrav,’ his characteristic catchphrase, ‘Alright Nah,’ a reference to his jersey number, ‘Flight 87,’ and ‘Kelce’s Krunch.
