The Cleveland Cavaliers have introduced Travis and Jason Kelce bobbleheads ahead of their game against the Boston Celtics, as the brothers return back home to raise money for local schools

The NBA’s Cavaliers have unveiled their Kelce Brother bobbleheads ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Boston Celtics, where Cleveland residents Jason and Travis will be in attendance to raise funds for local schools.

Jason, a former Philadelphia Eagles center, announced his retirement yesterday.

Cleveland will give away bobbleheads of each brother, and there will be exclusive Kelce/Cavs stuff for sale, with 100% of the proceeds going to local schools.

Travis briefly pondered a college basketball career, despite Jason’s belief that he was born to play football.

‘West Virginia is where I wanted to play basketball,’ Jason revealed in December, admitting that he almost accepted a scholarship to play for now-former Mountaineers coach Bob Huggins, who had previously coached in Cincinnati.

Travis also acquired his moniker, Big Yeti, while playing casual basketball at UC.

‘It’s all about Big Yeti to me,’ Jason stated on the pair’s New Heights podcast in October 2022, when asked about his favourite nicknames for his brother. ‘Big Yeti is the best nickname you have ever had.’

As Travis said in 2022, he was a harrier at Cincinnati from 2008 to 2012.

‘I had a big beard, long hair, chest hair, back hair, arm hair, and leg hair,’ Travis explained. Travis (left) and Jason (right) Kelce are pictured during their college days in Cincinnati

‘I was like a huge, old Yeti out there, man. All the homies on the court nicknamed me ‘Big Yeti’—especially since I was a low-post guy, so I was just down there giving work, handing out work in the post.

The Kelce brothers’ visit comes at a pivotal time for Cleveland coach J.B. Bickerstaff’s club.

The Cavaliers are third in the Eastern Conference standings with a 39-21 record, while the Celtics are the clear leaders with a 48-12 record.

The Celtics had their most spectacular half of the season on Sunday, taking a 44-point advantage into halftime and winning 140-88 at home over Golden State.

Tuesday’s game will mark the beginning of a five-game road trip that will see Boston play games against Denver, Phoenix, Portland, and Utah.

The Cleveland Cavaliers lost 107-98 against the New York Knicks on Sunday night.

Donovan Mitchell, the Cavaliers’ best scorer, was out due to a bone injury in his left knee that had kept him out of the previous two games.

Mitchell is expected to miss at least three more games, including tonight’s game against Boston, after receiving a PRP injection in his ailing knee.
