Klay Thompson gave up his private jet for paper aeroplanes this week. The Golden State Warriors player reportedly interrupted his vacation early to assist teammate Moses Moody.
According to Jarrod Castillo of NBC Sports Bay Area, Thompson was a surprise guest at Moody’s Motivation One Foundation event in Little Rock, Arkansas, on Friday.
Thompson also stayed for Moody’s youth basketball camp the next day. He demonstrated some of his hops to the enthusiastic campers and even taught them how to make and launch expert-level paper aeroplanes.
Thompson’s love of paper aeroplanes is well-known among Warriors supporters. Over the last few seasons, the sharpshooter has been known to experiment with them during postgame press conferences. Learning about Klay’s paper aircraft process firsthand and being able to toss them with him is not a memory those kids will soon forget.
The Warriors have historically had a strong winning culture. They had a few setbacks last season, most notably the off-season punch that shook Jordan Poole and the team.
Following a few trades and free agent signings, a revitalised Golden State Warriors team hopes to reestablish championship-calibre camaraderie and erase last season’s disappointments. Thompson assisting his young teammate is undoubtedly a start in the right direction.
