A.J. Slaughter, a Polish national team guard, received a lot of attention after sharing a viral photo with his son, Nikola Jokic, and Luka Doncic, and he expressed what it meant to him and his son.

At first sight, it appeared to be an average snapshot of Slaughter posing with the two most promising EuroBasket 2022 players. After Poland defeated Slovenia, many joked that Slaughter was the tournament’s last man standing.

Slaughter captured images with two cameras. Now, only he has a chance to win the ME – Sports Report medal.

However, for Slaughter, this image has a much deeper significance.

“Man, I was telling someone to thank these guys for being humble enough to take a picture with me and my son,” said Slaughter to BasketballNews. “I’d like to put my pride aside; I’ve never played against those people. I want to set aside my pride and ask those people for the image.”

“They are grateful for providing me and my son with a snapshot, which will serve as a lifetime remember. Something that when he grows up, he will realise who took the photo. He will thank me. “Just another lifetime memory made in EuroBasket 2022,” Slaughter stated.

In a quarterfinal victory over Slovenia, Slaughter had 16 points (4/6 2PT, 2/8 3PT, 2/3 FT), 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 1 turnover, and 20 EFG.

Poland will face France in the semifinals on Friday at 17:15 CET.
