King James and Van Dijk unveiled the new Liverpool FC x LeBron collection

Following a year since their initial collaboration, Liverpool and LeBron James have reunited for a second line of tailored athletic and athleisure wear.

When the first Liverpool FC x LeBron collection launched in February 2023, James had just crossed 40,000 career points. He is now the NBA’s all-time top scorer. Days after attaining that milestone, he released LBJ x LFC Chapter 2.

Since 2011, when he became a minority shareholder and fan of Premier League side Liverpool, James has become a fixture at the club.

In an empathic message congratulating the Netherlands defender on his new captaincy, James stood alongside Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk, whom he referred to as “VVD my guy.”

Chapter 2 of the collection combines visual elements from basketball and football. It includes a revised version of LeBron James’ signature Nike LeBron footwear, a football shirt, and a limited edition hoop jersey in a colour palette reminiscent of Liverpool’s historic teal away kit.

Both jerseys have the iconic “YNWA” (“You’ll Never Walk Alone”) print design across the abdomen. Both jerseys also feature LeBron’s personal catchphrase “SFG,” which translates to “Strive For Greatness,” stitched into the cloth.

The football shirt features a tonal checkerboard design that includes squares, stripes, the two mantras stated earlier, the Liverpool club crest, and LeBron James’ “King James” badge. It is black in colour and has gold and teal accents.

The basketball version has a blue-teal vest embellished with gold and black ornaments, with a jumbled arrangement of colours that maintains the same front design, crests, and detailing.

The technically classified LFC x LeBron Nike NXXT Gen Amplified footwear are extremely lightweight and have a teal outsole. Furthermore, the heel and tongue bear the gold Liverpool “Liver bird” club crest, indicating that James will consistently support the Reds when wearing these athletic shoes.

The larger gear line, which features Andy Robertson, Alisson Becker, Ryan Gravenberch, Taylor Hinds, and Andy Robertson as models, also includes jackets, warm-up tops, and t-shirts.

“It is an honour to have launched this collaboration with LeBron James and Van Dijk,” he said after leading Liverpool to their second Premier League victory in five years and preparing to face title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City. “Everyone is incredibly curious to see what we’ve accomplished.”

Liverpool vice-captain Hinds, who has scored goals in Women’s Super League games against Manchester City and Manchester United this season, said: “LBJ and LFC have once again teamed up beautifully, combining the two sports in a way that is truly remarkable.”
