Jason Kelce & Beau Allen
Days after announcing his retirement, Jason Kelce looks to have already found a new “job” that at least one of his former teammates is enthusiastic about.
Beau Allen posted a photo on Twitter on March 9 showing himself sitting in a vehicle next to Kelce as they drove to the Philly Show, a sports memorabilia event taking place this weekend in Philadelphia. Allen, who started his NFL career as a defensive tackle with the Philadelphia Eagles and later played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New England Patriots, sat in the passenger seat as Kelce, 36, drove.
Allen, 32, joked on X that he “needed a ride” to the event, and “thankfully, this jobless bum could drop me off.” He included a hashtag to imply that Kelce was functioning as his Uber driver for the day.

Kelce has sparked significant conjecture regarding his next move now that his NFL retirement is official. For weeks after the Eagles’ 2023 NFL season finished in mid-January, it remained unknown whether the father of three would return for another season or retire after 13 years as an Eagles centre.
During an emotional press conference in Philadelphia on March 4, Kelce finally announced his retirement. His parents, wife, and brother Travis Kelce were present to show Kelce their support.
Allen, who retired from the NFL in July 2022, was among many professional players who provided Kelce retirement advise in the weeks preceding his announcement. During a mid-February episode of New Heights, Kelce’s podcast with his brother, Allen advised his former colleague that life after the NFL takes time to acclimatise and can be “a little boring.”
Kelce also expressed concern about his post-football existence last month, telling his former colleague, Chris Long, that while it was “exciting” to think about what the future could contain, it was also “daunting” and “nerve-wracking” to confront the uncertainty of what would come next.
For the time being, Kelce told supporters that he is most “looking forward” to focusing on “something other than football” and changing his nutrition for life beyond the NFL.
