‘2024 NBA Final would be between Nuggets and Mavericks’ – Former Clippers guard predicted 2024 NBA Champions

Former Los Angeles Clippers guard John Wall recently revealed who his #1 pick was to win the 2024 NBA Finals. During a recent episode of ‘The OGs with Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller,’ the two former champions poked Wall’s brain about who he thought were deserving contenders this season.

Haslem offered the Dallas Mavericks to the former Los Angeles Clippers guard, but Wall promptly dismissed the idea.

Wall then questioned why he thought the Denver Nuggets were the best bet to win it all this season. Wall was impressed with how Nikola Jokic dominated the league this season.

With the probable 2023-24 season MVP on their side heading into the 2024 playoffs, the Nuggets will be difficult to beat. The former Clippers guard also praised Jamal Murray’s performance as Jokic’s partner.

Do the Clippers, John Wall’s old team, have a chance to win the NBA title in 2024?

The Los Angeles Clippers (41-22), John Wall’s previous squad, have stunned the NBA since James Harden came. For a while, some supporters have been unhappy with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard’s inability to win a title.

However, with the off-season additions of Russell Westbrook and Harden, things began to look up for LA.

The Clippers rose from the bottom of the Western Conference to sit comfortably among the top four teams. Despite the former All-Stars’ diminishing productivity, Harden and Westbrook provided much-needed assistance to George and Leonard. Nonetheless, the former Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets teammates can still deliver strong games for their teams.

Looking at their statistics, LA has evolved into a tough opponent in the approaching 2024 playoffs.

James Harden averages 17.5 points, 8.3 assists, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.1 steals a game. Russell Westbrook averaged 11.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. Then there’s Paul George, who averages 22.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.6 steals a game, and Kawhi Leonard, who averages 24.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.

All four stars are versatile and capable of providing strong attack and defense for their respective teams. With that stated, the Clippers have a chance to win their first title in franchise history this season.

However, with Westbrook out due to a fractured left hand that was recently surgically repaired, their prospects of making the Finals may have been slightly lowered. Nonetheless, despite the absence of a dynamic point guard, LA has established itself as a formidable force.

The Denver Nuggets are one team they should keep an eye out for. Stopping Nikola Jokic in his tracks is a daunting task. However, given how efficient LA has been on defense this season, they may have a shot to dethrone the defending NBA champions this season. The key to winning their first title this year is to maintain their consistency and perform as they have throughout the regular season.
