Kylie Kelce is, above all, a Philadelphia Eagles fan.
She demonstrated her commitment to not wearing any other NFL team’s merchandise at the 2024 Super Bowl, where she backed brother-in-law Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs’ standout tight end.
Kylie Kelce wore a red jacket at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on February 11 when the Chiefs hosted the San Francisco 49ers, but it had no Chiefs graphics on it.
Kylie Kelce’s husband, Eagles center Jason Kelce, discussed his wife’s dress with his brother on the February 14 episode of their “New Heights” podcast.
“Kylie got some love from the Philadelphia fans for her continued refusal to wear Chiefs gear, even though she has personal connections,” he went on to say. “She just does not want to do it.”
Travis Kelce said he understood and was glad she wore something red to the big game, which the Chiefs won 25-22 in overtime.
“Don’t you f— around with my fandom over the birds,” he continued, referring to the Eagles. “I respect that, Ky. I appreciate that you even wore red. You could have worn anything neutral and simply expressed your support — just showing up was enough for me, so I appreciate that.”
He also stated that his sister-in-law will wear university merchandise other than her alma mater, Cabrini University.
Jason Kelce concurred: “She’ll wear other universities, but she won’t wear other NFL teams.”
He also revealed that she was wearing a “New Heights” shirt underneath her jacket for the Super Bowl.
“So she was definitely supporting Trav,” he told me.
“She always is,” Travis Kelce answered.
Jason Kelce stated he tried to persuade his wife to wear Chiefs clothing but was unsuccessful.
“I tried, and we have family in the game. It’s okay to root for that team,” he remarked. “They aren’t playing the Eagles. You realize this isn’t against the Eagles, correct?”
Jason Kelce stated: “Anything to go against Jason.”
Kylie Kelce also posted a photo of herself in the red jacket from the game to her Instagram story on February 13 and stated that “superstition kicked in hard” on Sunday.
“I refused to watch the game, even via the TVs,” she stated in an email.
Her husband also talked about his own Super Bowl outfit: Chiefs dungarees.
“I was trying to figure out what to wear, and I figured if I went with the dungarees and I had straps that could hold my shirt down… so I wouldn’t take my shirt off,” he stated on the episode of “New Heights.” “When I felt the desire to be more composed.”
Jason Kelce was referring to his shirtless moment during the Chiefs’ playoff game against the Buffalo Bills on Jan. 21, when he took his shirt off after his brother scored a touchdown, helping the Chiefs win 27-24.
While he was celebrating, Jason Kelce lifted up a young Taylor Swift fan, allowing her to wave and show her handmade sign to the pop diva, who was sitting in the suite with her boyfriend Travis Kelce.
