Nikola Jokic stated that he does not want to leave the Denver Nuggets, but if the Dallas Mavericks upset Luka Doncic, he is welcome to join him in Denver.
When asked if he could partner up with his great friend Luka Doncic, Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic spoke directly.
However, based by Jokic’s response, it would be on his terms, with Doncic required to join the Nuggets.
“I don’t know if it’s possible,” Jokic replied. “I do not want to leave Denver. I like it there, and it’s a fantastic company. But if Luka becomes upset in Dallas, he can come.”
Jokic had a terrific time with Doncic at the NBA All-Star weekend, and their tight friendship was well known.
Jokic has 53 appearances this season and is averaging 26.1 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 8.9 assists.
Meanwhile, in 47 games with the Dallas Mavericks, Doncic averaged 34.2 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 9.5 assists.
The Slovenian superstar is in his second year of a five-year, $215 million contract with the Mavericks. Doncic may become a free agency following the 2025-26 season if he declines his $48.9 million option for 2026-27.
