FULL SCENES: Dallas Mavericks exploded as Kyrie Irving scored the decisive shot to put the Mavericks on the podium

The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Denver Nuggets, 107-105, thanks to an astonishing comeback. Kyrie Irving scored the game-winning basket with no time remaining on an inbounds play after seeing a wild, left-handed skyhook fall down.

Following the game, Matthew Phillips and I went live to react to the shot, celebrate the win, and discuss what we thought worked and didn’t in this game. We spent the first ten minutes of the show discussing the final shot and what lead up to it. It has to be the most unexpected Dallas game winner since Luka Doncic’s double-overtime victory over the Clippers in 2020 during the Bubble.

After that, we spent a lot of time discussing why Dallas was in a position to win (and lose, to be honest). Dallas played a lot of bully ball, outworking the Nuggets on the boards and on the ball. Dallas’ offense came and went, with all non-Kyrie and Luka players shooting 0-13 from distance.

This could be considered a season-defining win. Dallas hasn’t had many definitive games against top talent in either conference, so knowing that they CAN win like this should allay fans’ anxieties. This was a pretty great event, and if you watch the video, it jumps right into the live, fan involvement show. That show will be available on audio feeds Monday afternoon.
