Brittany and Patrick Mahomes took a break from their hectic schedules to attend a Dallas Mavericks game versus the defending NBA champions Denver Nuggets.
Dorothy J. Gentry, a Professional Basketball Writers Association member, posted a video on X (previously Twitter) showing the couple enjoying the game from courtside.
While the Mahomes have lived in Kansas City and Missouri since the Chiefs drafted him tenth overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, they are originally from Texas and met at Whitehouse High School.
Mahomes played collegiate football for Texas Tech, and he was inducted into the university’s Ring of Honor in 2022.
The Mahomes traveled to Texas following the $120 million grand opening of the Kansas City Current’s CPKC Stadium at Berkley Riverfront Park. It’s the first stadium designed particularly for a National Women’s Soccer League team. Brittany and Patrick Mahomes invested in the squad, which played in front of a sell-out crowd of 11,500 in its inaugural game at its new stadium.
The club did not waste the historic occasion, defeating the Portland Thorns 5-4. The launch festivities included a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mahomes and Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas. The Mahomes couple also helped hand over the stadium’s keys.
They began the game with the Current’s famous “K.C., baby” chant.
According to The Washington Post’s Steven Goff, work on CPKC Stadium began in 2022, and the team secured a 50-year lease with Port K.C., which manages the riverfront. The stadium was purportedly privately financed, with Missouri providing a $5.5 million tax credit.
Brittany and Patrick Mahomes have made several investments throughout the years.
The two-time Super Bowl MVP is making the most of his ten-year, $450 million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs. He also earns millions from endorsement partnerships with Adidas, State Farm, DirecTV, and Oakley, among others.
Aside from creating his family’s eight-acre mansion, he is diversifying his business portfolio by investing in sports recovery and wellness startups such as Whoop and Hyperice.
Similarly, he owns a one percent investment in the Major League Baseball team Kansas City Royals. He and Travis Kelce are investors in the Alpine Formula 1 racing team, which also includes Rory McIlroy, Anthony Joshua, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Juan Mata, and Alexander Zverev.
Beyond sports, Patrick Mahomes increased his net worth by investing in KMO Burgers, which helped open the first Whataburger location in Kansas City in 2022.
Meanwhile, Brittany Mahomes’ net worth is $10 million. In addition to the Current, she founded Brittany Lynne Fitness in 2019 and teamed with Shop Vitality on the Sterling Skye fitness collection in 2022.
