A stunning comeback helped the Dallas Mavericks overcome the Denver Nuggets, 107-105. With no time left on an inbounds play, Kyrie Irving made the game-winning shot after witnessing a crazy, left-handed skyhook go down.
After the game, Matthew Phillips and I went live to discuss what we thought went well and poorly in this game, celebrate the win, and react to the shot. The first ten minutes of the broadcast were devoted to our discussion about the last shot and its preparation. This has to be the most surprising Dallas game-winning play since Luka Doncic’s 2020 Bubble double-overtime triumph over the Clippers.
After that, we talked for a long time about why Dallas had a chance to winβand lose, to be honest. Dallas outworked the Nuggets both on the glass and with the ball, engaging in a lot of bully ball. With every player outside of Kyrie and Luka going 0β13 from distance, Dallas’ offense came and went.

This could be considered a season-defining win. Dallas hasnβt had many definitive games against top talent in either conference, so knowing that they CAN win like this should allay fansβ anxieties. This was a pretty great event, and if you watch the video, it jumps right into the live, fan involvement show. That show will be available on audio feeds Monday afternoon.
