Kobe’s 2000 championship ring is up for auction! The highest bid so far is $94,000 😲

Kobe Bryant’s 2000 NBA championship ring, originally given to his father, former NBA star Joe “Jellybean” Bryant, is for sale at Goldin Auctions. Notably, Goldin states that it is not the executive ring handed to players after winning a championship. However, it is the “exact same ring” awarded to Bryant and his Los Angeles Lakers teammates. Bryant ordered an extra ring after winning the 2000 title to give to his father. Now that ring is on sale.

This is not the first time that memorabilia given to Bryant’s parents has been on the market. In 2013, Bryant resolved a lawsuit with Goldin over items that his parents intended to sell. That compromise permitted less than 10% of the goods originally scheduled for auction to be sold. This is the only ring Bryant has ever given to his father, and it comes with a letter of authenticity from his mother, Pamela Bryant.

Bryant’s connection with his parents was not always easy. In 2016, he told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne that “our relationship is shit,” citing the attempted sale of the things in 2013 as one source of contention. Following Bryant’s death in 2020, Wayne Slappy, a Bryant family friend, told The Daily Mail that he had recently witnessed Kobe and Joe hugging at a basketball camp. The ring is 14 carat gold and has 40 diamonds. On one side, Bryant’s surname appears, as does the Lakers’ regular-season record (67-15) and postseason record (15-8). On the other side are the phrases “bling bling” and the year (2000). The auction for the ring is due to end on March 31, and the current leading bid is $94,000.Cheap >kobe Bryant’s Championship Rings Big Sale OFF 77%” align=”center” style=”max-width: 100%; margin-bottom: 30px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; display: block;”>
