Nikola Jokic, the Denver Nuggets’ talented center, has defined his position. Coming into the league, Jokic was regarded as just another European center selected in the second round of the 2014 NBA draft. Nobody expected him to become the person he is now.
He is unquestionably the finest player in basketball right now and is on track for a Hall of Fame career. While Jokic has accomplished so much and is far from done, he continues to wow NBA fans every night.
His most recent game, against the New York Knicks on Thursday, was no exception. In the second quarter, Jokic made another standout performance, this time with his passing ability. Check out this incredible no-look pass by the two-time NBA MVP.
We’re used to Jokic doing crazy stuff on the basketball court, but even the Nuggets broadcast staff was stunned. Jokic executed an incredible behind-the-back, no-look, over-the-head one-handed pass to Aaron Gordon. He makes a highlight play practically every single game, and the reigning NBA Finals MVP continues to impress us night after night.
Aside from that incredible pass, the Nuggets defeated the defensive-minded Knicks, 113-110. Jokic contributed 30 points, making him the night’s second best scorer, as well as 11 assists and 14 rebounds for his 22nd triple-double.
The Nuggets are the second seed in the Western Conference (49-21), tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder (48-20). Jokic and the Nuggets have been playing excellent basketball all season, particularly as the regular season winds down. Aside from health, there’s no reason why the Nuggets shouldn’t win another championship.
They will have the greatest player on their team every night of the postseason. With Jokic on their side and his playmaking abilities, the Nuggets are the team to defeat. To be the champs, you must defeat the champs.
