Monday night against Memphis, the Nuggets could be hoping for their second straight win without their two biggest talents.
Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray are both classified as questionable to face the Grizzlies. Jokic has been struggling with low back soreness and left hip inflammation, while Murray sprained his left ankle in the closing seconds of Thursday’s victory over the Knicks at Ball Arena. If Jokic is unable to play, Michael Malone’s options inside will be limited, as Zeke Nnaji is expected to miss another game due to right adductor tendinosis.
Denver overcame Portland on Saturday, despite Jokic and Murray’s absences. Reggie Jackson and DeAndre Jordan started as point guards and centers, respectively.
If Murray and Jokic are unable to play against a Memphis team that has been eliminated from playoff contention at 24-47, Denver’s next opportunity to reclaim its star duo is Wednesday against the Suns.
