Kyrie Irving checking on his son after the Wizards player landed on him courtside

Kyrie Irving witnessed his two-year-old son nearly being wounded after a Wizards player stepped out of bounds and nearly landed on him courtside.

Kyrie Irving brought his family to the court to witness the Dallas Mavericks battle the Washington Wizards. While Kyrie and the Mavericks pulled off a tremendous comeback victory on a chilly team shooting night, Irving’s two-year-old son, Kaire, found himself in peril. Corey Kispert, a Wizards forward, nearly fell on Irving’s youngster courtside.

Luka Doncic could be seen checking on Irving’s youngster seconds after the incident, and the camera then moved to Kyrie, who was also checking on his family.

Kyrie was seen having a lengthy one-on-one conversation with Jason Kidd after the game, while accompanying his son.Kyrie Irving Checked Up On His Son After Wizards Player Landed On Him Courtside

Irving then revealed that the chat was about Kidd urging him not to bring his young children to court because of the physical danger they are in. Following the Kispert incident, Irving appears to have quickly agreed with him.

“We were mainly talking about my son, Kaire, sitting courtside, and he was telling me about a time when he was playing and his son, TJ, was sitting courtside, and he ended up diving into the stands and breaking his collarbone.” So he was simply telling me that, for the sake of our game and the safety of my wife and children, they shouldn’t sit courtside as much when the game turns heated. So [Kidd] was just giving me advice, and my wife and I were talking about it after the game; it’s been three years, having the lads down there every game, and no one’s come that close, and it was scary for me. I took a long breath thereafter, just to make sure my kids were okay. However, such events are unplanned. “My wife did an excellent job of protecting Kai.”

Irving scored 26 points on a 10-for-19 shooting performance. The Mavericks struggled for most of the night, down by ten points entering the fourth quarter. However, the squad played an almost flawless quarter, with Luka Doncic ending a cold streak to win the game 112-104.

This season, Irving has averaged 25.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.4 assists.

The Mavericks need Kyrie Irving to contend.

The Mavericks are currently on a season-high five-game winning streak. Kyrie has won all five games since returning from a thumb injury and has been on fire. Over the last five games, he has averaged 25.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.2 assists, demonstrating both excellent defense and efficient scoring.

This season, the Mavericks are 17-10 when Kyrie and Luka play together. The fit is coming together, particularly in the fourth quarter, since the Mavericks are one of the NBA’s top clutch teams. This season, they have the best clutch game record of any club, going 17-6.

The acquisitions of Daniel Gafford and PJ Washington have provided energy and versatility to the roster, positioning Dallas for a second-half surge up the standings. Despite their 31-23 record, the Mavericks are the No. 8 seed in the West, but they are only one game away from being the No. 5 seed.

If Irving continues to perform at this level alongside Doncic, who would be an MVP candidate if the club had a better record, the Mavericks have the potential to make a deep playoff run. Even if Kyle Kuzma and Spencer Dinwiddie elected to stay away from the franchise this winter, they can prove everyone wrong with their performance on the court.
