Thompson returned home to Marin County after a busy few days that included winning the NBA title in Boston, having a crazy time at the parade in San Francisco, and partying in Las Vegas.

On Wednesday, he displayed two posters, one of which featured congratulatory messages from his Marin County neighbors.

On one of the posters, “941 Days” is emblazoned in large Warriors-gold lettering as a nod to the shooting guard’s problems. Thompson returned to the NBA after missing 941 days due to ruptured ACL and Achilles tendon injuries in consecutive years. He went on to win his fourth NBA title in eight years.

Though Klay’s closeness with “Splash Brother” Steph Curry is well-known around the Bay Area, recent events have demonstrated how close he is to his neighbors. Thompson has been happy with the joy he has been able to spread to the neighborhood since his return from Boston. Among the many simple pleasures he has encountered since returning home are being recognized at brunch and “taking a picture with an old lady or young kid,” as the posters he was greeted with stated.

He posted a video to his Instagram story earlier this week of himself relaxing on his beloved boat with two neighbors who resided “right down the corner.”

It is unclear whether any neighborhood bakery served a “holy cannoli” in his honor.
