In a podcast with J.J. Redick, LeBron James praised Nikola Jokic’s performances as well as the Denver Nuggets’ success.
The popular “King” described Colorado’s hero as one of the smartest basketball players in history.
“The best four teams are the ones with the best players and coaches. What will set them apart is basketball intelligence, because there are moments in the game that your coach, video footage, and game history cannot prepare you for. LeBron James added, “You have to have basketball intelligence to make immediate adjustments.”
“If you don’t have that level of mental makeup or capacity, then a team like the Denver Nuggets, with one of the greatest basketball geniuses in history, as we’ve seen in Jokic, or the Golden State Warriors with Green, Steph… those things help.
” I feel the Warriors’ victory against the Celtics came down to IQ in the finals since, in my perspective, the Celtics had more talent. People talk about experience, but IQ is important.”
