Inside Look: The Star-Studded Dallas Mavericks Ball Raises $1.5 Million

On Friday, the Dallas Mavericks strolled across the blue carpet in their sharpest duds for the eighth annual Mavs Ball, the Mavs Foundation’s top fundraiser. The star-studded night saw coach Jason Kidd bidding $90,000 to win a five-day trip to Slovenia, as well as a bottle of wine from the world’s oldest winery.

However, the Slovenian experience was not the highest-bidding item. A one-of-a-kind coaching experience with Kidd generated $120,000. The victor will participate in a full five-on-five scrimmage hosted by Kidd on the team’s practice court, and the prize will include coaching tips and tactics, as well as a surprise current Mavs player as the sixth man.

Doncic and Spencer Dinwiddie earned a trip to the state fair with teammate Boban Marjanovic for $80,000.

Overall, $1.5 million was raised for the Mavs Foundation.

Mavs teammates pretty much agreed that Dwight Powell and Tim Hardaway Jr. were “best dressed” of the evening. What about worst-dressed?

“Me,” said Doncic, the Western Conference Player of the Month for February.
