Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis has silenced the negаtive narratives surrounding him this season by participating in 69 out of the team’s 74 games and ranking seventh in the league in total minutes played.
However, as the season has progressed, Davis has experienced some minor injuries, including a recent knee issue after colliding knees with Khris Middleton during a Lakers victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
As a result of the ιnjury, Davis sat out the game against the Memphis Grizzlies the following night, but he was able to make a return against the Indiana Pacers on Friday.
In the Lakers’ previous matchups against the Pacers, Davis showcased his dominance, averaging an impressive 38.5 points, 18 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.5 blocks in two victories. However, this time around, Davis didn’t exhibit his usual self, appearing to be limited in mobility due to the knee issue. Nonetheless, Davis, still displaying his exceptional skills, managed to contribute a team-leading 24 points, along with 15 rebounds and three assists.
After the game, Davis acknowledged that his knee was still causing discomfort, particularly at the beginning of the game, as revealed on Spectrum SportsNet. He stated, “Still sоre. Took me a while to kind of get into the game just because I was still feeling it on a lot of plays. But I’ll be alright.”
Considering the significance of each game, Davis expressed his intention not to miss any more games due to the minor knee ιnjury. He said, “I’ll get better in a couple of days. It’s nothing serious. I played tonight, so I feel like I can play through it. So it’s nothing that I plan to miss any more games for or have to be on a minute restriction or anything of that nature.”
Throughout the season, Davis has consistently displayed his toughness, and it is expected that he will continue to do so until this knee issue subsides.
