Austin Reaves, the guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, has solidified his position as a crucial member of the team, contributing significantly to their successful finish in the 2023-24 season.
Reaves rose to prominence and secured a partnership with the Chinese sportswear brand Rigorer, who released his signature shoe, the AR1. A special edition of the AR1, featuring a colorway for Valentine’s Day, was a commercial hit.
In an exciting development, Rigorer and Reaves have collaborated with KICKS CREW to release their first joint project involving the AR1. KICKS CREW, the exclusive launch partner for Rigorer and Reaves since the AR1’s debut in August 2023, will be the first brand to have a co-branded collaboration with the team. Reaves expressed his satisfaction with working with KICKS CREW and the reasons behind partnering with them for this collaboration.
“The KICKS CREW team has embraced Rigorer and me like family, and we couldn’t be prouder to have them as our partner, helping us bring the AR1 to fans worldwide. That’s why we chose them for our first collaboration on such an important release. The ’17 Rings’ colorway celebrates the championships that inspire me every day and the legends associated with them,” Reaves stated.
The exclusive ’17 Rings’ colorway will be available for purchase exclusively on KICKSCREW.com on April 6th at 8 a.m. PT. Priced at $110, fans can enter a giveaway on the AR1 event page for a chance to win one of five pairs.
This upcoming release will be the seventh in Reaves’ signature shoe line. The new design pays homage to the Lakers with a purple and gold color scheme and a white base. The shoe’s tongue displays the years of the franchise’s championships, while the medial side honors the retired jerseys.
Additionally, the KICKS CREW branding is visible on the shoe’s tongue and heel, as well as on the special packaging.
LeBron James has recognized Reaves’ impressive performance, earning the trust and respect of the superstar. James frequently relied on Reaves during last year’s playoffs, wanting to see how he would perform in high-pressure postseason games.
James explained that he aimed to instill confidence in Reaves, and his decision has paid off as the guard has shown no fear in taking control of games when needed.
