The term ‘best of all time’ is used a lot in sports these days. The expression is now widely used online and in everyday life to describe someone who has attained a degree of greatness in their area that only occurs once in a generation.
The absolute best of the greatest.
There are numerous candidates for this title in the NFL, but Patrick Mahomes is already building his case after only seven seasons.
When it comes to the exceptional quarterback, there isn’t much else to say without sounding like a broken record. Football fans are well aware of Mahomes’ brilliance, but he took it upon himself in the postseason to remind everyone of his abilities following a regular season that was deemed a subpar year by the Kansas City Chiefs’ lofty standards.
The squad finished with an 11-6 regular season record, the poorest in the Mahomes era. The Chiefs’ receiving corps struggled with drops throughout the season. They lost victory due of lapses in concentration. Star tight end Travis Kelce, who is in his 11th NFL season, exhibited some symptoms of aging.
Nonetheless, Mahomes is scheduled to compete in his fourth Super Bowl on Sunday. This was expected to be the year that a few holes appeared in the Chiefs dynasty, but we’ve been trained never to bet against the Chiefs quarterback.
“I already think Mahomes is the best, and if he wins tonight, it’s over. Like I’m OK.
“I’ve seen enough,” Nate Tice, a former NFL coach and scout turned football writer and podcaster, told CNN Sport.

Did anyone anticipate him being this good? His father surely did.
“The things he was doing at such a young age, I knew that was different,” Patrick Mahomes Sr., Mahomes’ father and a former professional baseball player, told CNN last week. “I knew that was special and I knew that if he continued to move in that fashion and to continue working every day he’d have a chance to be a professional athlete.”
Despite his father’s faith, few could have predicted Mahomes’ success – not even the Chiefs, who traded multiple picks to move up 17 spots to choose him 10th overall in the 2017 NFL draft.
“I thought [the Chiefs] obviously really liked him, but I’m sure this is even beyond their wildest dreams,” Tice added.
