Patrick and Brittany Mahomes had a great time at an NWSL game on Saturday, and they intend to bring along another high-profile buddy the next time.

The Chiefs quarterback and his wife, who are part owners of the Kansas City Current, helped kick off the brand-new CPKC Stadium in style, and they plan to get Taylor Swift in at some time.

They have an excellent relationship.

Before Kansas City’s thrilling 5-4 victory over the Portland Thorns on Saturday, the Mahomes family chatted with ESPN’s “SportsCenter” about the club — and how they hope to see Taylor Swift at a game this season.

“We might get her here at some point, she’s a busy woman, and Travis [Kelce] is a busy guy,” Patrick Mahomes stated, as reported by Bleacher Report.

“So, maybe throughout the season, we’ll take her to a Kansas City Currents game. She loves Kansas City just as much as we do, and I’m sure Brittany can nudge her and bring her here rather easy.”

Brittany stated that the onus will be on her to secure the pop megastar at a NWSL game.

“That is entirely my responsibility. I’ll work on it.

 

However, the two did not simply discuss persuading Swift to attend a Current match.

They also got the fans excited for the stadium’s first game.

According to the team, it was a historic opening at the site, which is the first soccer stadium in the world designed solely for a women’s team.

The stadium has a capacity of 11,500 and sold out for the opener.

“Kansas City — we’re here, and we did it,” Brittany Mahomes told the fans over a microphone before kickoff. “I simply wanted to thank everyone for showing up today. This is history, this is wonderful, and you guys showing out for these women in their own stadium is amazing.”

The Chiefs signal-caller then led a boisterous chant of “KC, baby!” before saying, “Let’s go!”

The Current handily won the opening game, with goals from Alex Pfeiffer, Bia Zaneratto, Kristen Hamilton, and Vanessa DiBernardo.

Throughout, ESPN cameras spotted Mahomes supporters happily partying, certainly taking advantage of the festive situation.
