This week marked the closure of LeBron James’ third residence in Los Angeles, a spacious 13,000-square-foot mansion located in Beverly Hills. The basketball star acquired the property for $36.75 million, slightly below the initial asking price of $39 million.

The estate, originally built in the 1930s, has an interesting history. It was previously owned by Lee Phillip Bell, who gained fame for her collaboration with the late William Bell on the popular soap operas The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless. Notable former occupants of the mansion include actor Charles Boyer and Howard Hughes, who leased it to Katharine Hepburn, Hughes’ former lover.

The mansion boasts numerous amenities, including two guesthouses, four bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a tennis court, and a movie theater. It offers breathtaking views of both Beverly Hills and the Pacific Ocean and is situated on a spacious 2.5-acre property. It is expected that James will demolish the existing residence and construct a sprawling new estate in its place.

Currently, the Los Angeles real estate market is favorable for sellers. According to Zillow, the median home value increased by 7.4% in the past year, with a projected additional increase of 5.9% in the next twelve months.
