Kansas City Chiefs’ Mecole Hardman Jr. Celebrates Son’s First Birthday Following Super Bowl Win: ‘Went by So Fast’

Mecole Hardman Jr. spent a particularly special Monday with his family.

The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver, 25, awoke as a Super Bowl champion once more, having made the game-winning catch. While his side won last year, Hardman was too preoccupied with his son’s birth to really enjoy the celebrations.

Hardman and his expectant girlfriend Chariah Gordon also celebrated the first birthday of their son, Three, who was born on the same day as last year’s Super Bowl. In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the pleased father paid tribute to his son.

“Happy 1st birthday, son! A year has gone by so quickly! I adore you so much! You are growing up so quickly! I can’t wait to make many more memories! He commented, “I love being a father to you and I can’t wait to watch you grow up and become something special ️.”

While Three was not at the big game, he was in Las Vegas with his family, and Mom was checking on him. Gordon tweeted a snapshot of herself checking up on her baby boy with her Nanit baby monitor.

“I get to enjoy the game and check in on my son 3,” she wrote beside the photo.

In another photo, she stood alongside Hardman, labeling it “Mom and Dad️.”

Hardman revealed to reporters on Sunday that he was too stunned to grasp what he and his teammates had just accomplished when he grabbed the game-winning ball in overtime.Mecole Hardman Jr. and Chariah Gordon.

“I blacked out, man,” Hardman said following the Chiefs’ 25-22 championship victory, according to The Associated Press. “I forgot we actually won the game.”

Hardman, the Chiefs’ odd hero, did not seem to celebrate the catch at first. He caught the three-yard touchdown throw from quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who then informed Hardman as he ran over to celebrate.

“I threw a touchdown to this dude to end the game, and he looked at me,” Mahomes, 28, explained. “He had no idea.” I said, ‘Dude, we just won the Super Bowl.’ He had no idea. He didn’t even celebrate in the beginning.”
