From Wayzata to Los Angeles: D’Angelo Russell Lists $4 Million Mansion to Upgrade to a Larger Home

Interior designer Tiffany Thompson drew inspiration from her travels in Yakushima, a woodsy Japanese island, when renovating NBA star D’Angelo Russell’s Wayzata mansion. The Architectural Digest home tour described her incorporation of a Japanese aesthetic and a philosophy of openness and exploration. Russell, who desired a black and white color scheme, expressed his satisfaction with the finished project, stating that the house made Minnesota feel like home. However, Russell, formerly a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves, has been traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, prompting him to list the luxurious property for $4 million. The mansion boasts various amenities suitable for a 27-year-old professional athlete, including an NBA-grade gymnasium, a bar/lounge, a golf simulator, a podcast studio, an elevator, a porch with a hоt tub and a vending machine, and an outdoor pool. The house is adorned with guitars, video game controllers, and Muhammad Ali decor. The property, located at 125 Westwood Ln. S., was previously purchased for $2.5 million in 2020 and is registered under Russell’s father’s nаme, Antonio. Russell was acquired by the Timberwolves in 2020 with the intention of pairing him with his close friend and Wolves franchise player, Karl Anthony Towns. However, the expected success did not materialize, and Russell was eventually traded to the Lakers in a multi-team deal. Despite the disappointment, Towns expressed happiness for Russell’s new opportunity with the Lakers. Russell’s postseason performance alongside LeBron James showed some improvement, although the Lakers were swept by the Denver Nuggets. It is reported that Russell wishes to return to the Crypto.com Arena as a Laker next year, albeit not on a maximum contract.
