Nikola Jokic, the Denver Nuggets’ superstar, isn’t feeling the pressure as the NBA playoffs approach. The Serbian center is entirely committed to his amusing “Despicable Me 4” campaign.

Jokic made a statement in his wardrobe for Saturday’s Game 1 against the Los Angeles Lakers, donning a characteristic striped scarf evocative of Gru from the film “Despicable Me 4.”

This outfit choice was a tribute to his appearance in an Illumination trailer released that same day.

In the clip, Jokic comically responds to being compared to the “Despicable Me” character on social media.

“I thought I looked very good that day. “I put on this beautiful suit… they say I resemble Gru,” Jokic says in the trailer.

Jokic cruised into the playoffs, scoring 32 points and grabbing 12 rebounds to lead the Nuggets to a 114-103 win against the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1.

“I mean, I love the guy, and I love the cartoon,” he said about his participation in the post-game conference. “Why not just have a little bit of fun, too?”

Jokic and his teammates will play the second game of the best-of-seven series on Monday in Denver.
