LeBron James, the veteran player for the Los Angeles Lakers, recently celebrated his 39th birthday on December 30th.
Despite being the oldest active player in the NBA, James continues to showcase his skills on the court and is considered one of the top 10 players in the league, defying his age.
James knows how to throw a lavish celebration, and his 39th birthday party was no exception. The party had a decadent disco-era theme, reminiscent of the 1970s. James shared a video on Instagram that highlighted the night, featuring celebrity guests such as Beyonce, Jay-Z, Kevin Hart, and Adele, among others. Athletes like Anthony Davis, Tyronn Lue (head coach of the L.A. Clippers), and Draymond Green (of the Golden State Warriors) were also in attendance.
The celebration took place at Hyde Sunset, which was transformed into a nightclub reminiscent of Studio 54, an iconic 80s-themed venue in Burbank, California. While the video mainly focuses on the dance floor and provides glimpses of the event, it captures the vibrant atmosphere and star-studded attendee list.
Despite the festivities, James didn’t shy away from acknowledging the Lakers’ current struggles on the court. After losing their fourth consecutive game and 10th in their last 13 outings, James bluntly stated, “We just suck right now.” He emphasized that the team shouldn’t dwell too much on their previous success in the In-Season Tournament, as it was only a small sample size and doesn’t reflect their current performance.
Despite the Lakers’ recent slump, James made sure to have a memorable night as he celebrated his 39th birthday.
