Jamal Murray rescued the day on Monday night.
Murray completed a stunning fadeaway buzzer-beater over Anthony Davis to help the Denver Nuggets defeat the Los Angeles Lakers 101-99 in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series. Murray, with the game tied and time running out, drove toward Anthony Davis before stepping back and firing.
Murray crashed into the Nuggets bench after his shot landed precisely over the Lakers’ big man, sparking a raucous celebration at Ball Arena in Denver.
The photo of the shot itself was really spectacular.
Murray scored 14 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter on Monday night, sparking a 20-point comeback in the second half. The reigning champs now have a 2-0 series lead over the Lakers, with Game 3 scheduled for Thursday night in Los Angeles.
The Nuggets have won 10 consecutive games versus the Lakers.
