The Los Angeles Lakers concluded their season on Monday evening with a defeat against the Denver Nuggets, resulting in a score of 105-103 in Game 5 of their initial playoff series. As a result, they will enter the offseason with numerous uncertainties regarding the composition of their team going forward.

According to former Lakers player Nick Young, he believes that the team made a mistake last summer. In a tweet, Young expressed his opinion that if the Lakers had kept Dennis Schroder instead of acquiring Gabe Vincent, they would have been successful in the series they recently lost. 

Schroder, who had been a productive role player for the Lakers during the 2022-23 season, signed with the Toronto Raptors and was later traded to the Brooklyn Nets. He averaged 12.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 41.5% from the field in 66 regular season games. On the other hand, Vincent, who signed with the Lakers in the offseason, dealt with injuries and only appeared in 11 regular season games and all five playoff games. He averaged 3.1 points and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 30.6% from the field. Nick Young, who played for various teams throughout his career, including the Lakers, expressed his opinion based on his experience in the NBA.
