Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis has recently added a new tattoo to his growing collection. Created by tattoo artist Steve Wiebe, the fresh ink covers Davis’ back and showcases his basketball journey from his college days at Kentucky to his NBA career. The tattoo features the phrase “started with a dream” above images that include Davis wearing his No. 23 Kentucky jersey, the NCAA championship trophy from the Wildcats’ 2012 victory over Kansas, and the Larry O’Brien Trophy from the Lakers’ 2020 NBA Finals win. This new tattoo joins a previous one on Davis’ right thigh that honors the late Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, which he got in January 2020 following Bryant’s tragic death in a helicopter crash.
Since entering the NBA as the No. 1 pick in the 2012 draft, Davis has established himself as one of the premier big men in the league, earning numerous All-Star, All-NBA, and All-Defensive team selections. During the Lakers’ championship-winning campaign in 2020, Davis played a crucial role, averaging 27.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game.
