Shaquille O’Neal has chimed in on the LeBron James vs Michael Jordan argument and made his opinions known.
Shaq and former Miami Heat teammate Mario Chalmers discussed NBA icons on a recent episode of ‘The Big Podcast’.

Last year, Chalmers caused a fuss by declaring that nobody ‘feared’ James and O’Neal appears to agree.
“I’ve heard players, including myself, say, ‘I feared Mike,'” The Big Aristotle explained.
“I have heard players from [Chalmers’] age say they dreaded Kobe [Bryant].
“I’ve never really heard any player say they feared LeBron.'”
Shaq went on to call James a “nice guy,” which Chalmers stated isn’t always a bad thing, and he doesn’t think LeBron’s opponents are very smart.
“It’s not that you shouldn’t fear ‘Bron,” Chalmers added. “I just think, at the end of the day, ‘Bron has been through so much that he wanted to be liked.”
“So, it was kind of like… ”I’m going to do things now so that people like and respect me.”
“I mean, [people] are always going to respect what [he] did, but you’re going to enjoy ‘Bron and want to be a fan of him today. So I believe that’s what it was.”

Needless to say, the statements sparked controversy online, with many fans disagreeing with the premise that no one scared LeBron.
People referred to the fact that he dominated the Eastern Conference for years and made eight consecutive Finals trips from 2011 to 2018 as proof that nobody wanted to come up against the four-time champion.
“Raptors would like a word with Shaq,” a third said, referring to the Raptors’ poor postseason record against James.
“Hawks, Pacers, Celtics, Bulls, & Wiz all got cooked by LeBron multiple times.”
“As someone from Toronto I can assure you the entire city was terrified of him,” another replied.
The topic eventually comes down to persona and how each personality ruled their particular times.
MJ and Kobe were carved from the same fabric, assassins on the court with a ‘kill or be killed’ attitude.
However, they were sometimes aloof, which caused problems with their own teammates.
Jordan famously struck teammate Steve Kerr in the face after practice, while Kobe reportedly refused to interact with Lakers player Smush Parker for two years until he had accomplished more.
In contrast, James has always been a facilitator who takes satisfaction in involving his teammates.
James is typically well-liked throughout the league and has never had any disagreements with teammates, which contributes to his ‘good guy’ character.
