Jayson Tatum rejects the term ‘Super Team’ for the Celtics, arguing that narrative only gets stronger after losses

The Boston Celtics defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers by a score of 25 points in their opening game of the second round of the playoffs. The Cavs seemed ready to defeat the Cs 118-94 tonight in retaliation. Boston’s loss was 24 points. As they headed into the 2024–25 season, Jayson Tatum and company were favorites to win the title. It hasn’t been simple for them to stay at the top, either. The “Beantown” concluded the regular season with the best win-loss record and the top ranking in the East, despite a lot of back and forth.

They cannot afford to make mistakes as they go through the playoffs. Tatum appeared severe after the game; this had to be due to all the strеss and obligations. The five-time all-star’s remarks also demonstrated how a title alone will suffice for them.

According to Tatum, the Celtics’ reputation as a “suρer team” seems to hold true only when they are losing. Cameron Tabatabaie of The Celtics Wire tweeted, “He said Boston only had two All-Stars, didn’t have the MVP, and didn’t win Coach of the Year.”
