The Los Angeles Lakers’ resurgence in the championship realm has received an additional boost with the inclusion of Carmelo Anthony to their roster.

The announcement of this significant acquisition was made on Friday, August 6, by Rob Pelinka, the Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager of the Lakers. As per team policy, the specific details of the agreement were not disclosed.

Anthony, a revered member of the illustrious 2003 NBA draft class, enters his 19th season with a career average of 23.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists. Notably, he currently stands as the 10th highest scorer in NBA history, with an impressive tally of 27,370 career points.

A ten-time NBA All-Star, Anthony was recently honored with the inaugural Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Social Justice Champion distinction. During his tenure with the Portland Trail Blazers, he exhibited his prowess by averaging 13.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game, while shooting an impressive 40.9 percent from beyond the three-point line.
