The Dallas Mavericks led 1-0 after a thrilling Game 1 with Luka Dončić scoring 33 and Kyrie Irving hitting 30 points.

The Mavericks prevailed 108-105 on Wednesday to take home-court advantage in the Western Conference finals, riding their usual offensive firepower in a game highlighted by 14 lead changes in front of a raucous Target Center crowd.

The effort capitalized on Anthony Edwards’ relatively off day, as he groaned and strained his way to 19 points on 6-of-16 shooting, as well as 11 rebounds and assists. The bigger issue was Karl-Anthony Towns’ 6-of-20 shooting for 16 points, with few Timberwolves other than Jaden McDaniels (24).
