Jaylen’s All-NBA omission following a 40-point performance in Game 2 puzzled Derrick White

Following Thursday night’s 126-110 victory against the Indiana Pacers, the Boston Celtics established a 2-0 series lead over the latter. The Eastern Conference Finals have been all Jaylen Brown through the first two games. Brown nearly doubled his 26-point effort from Game 1 with 40 points in Game 2.

There was a lot of talk about Brown not being on an All-NBA team before the game. Brown chose to let his play speak for itself, despite the fact that his teammates and coaches immediately rallied to his defence, saying that he deserved to be named an All-NBA player.

In addition to his 40 points on 14 of 27 shooting, Brown also contributed three assists, five rebounds, and a steаl.

Spurred on by Brown’s performance, Derrick White, a guard for the Boston Celtics, spoke with Abby Chin of NBC Sports Boston to share his thoughts on his teammate’s All-NBA omission.

“He’s unreal,” White said of Brown, as seen in the video player above. “He was completely ignored. He has been a huge asset to us this season on both ends of the court. Big-time snub; I fail to understand.”

In addition to a career-high 49.9 percent conversion rate, 5.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, Brown concluded the regular season averaging 23 points while reducing his turnover rate to just 2.4 per game.

According to White, who stated on Wednesday that Brown ought to have been selected for the All-Defensive team as well, Brown wasn’t the only one who was passed over for an All-NBA berth.

“To start with, JB truly deserves it,” stated White. “He took on that challenge and was amazing the entire season. He was always up for a challenge, especially when it involved a prominent athlete or celebrity. He kind of set the tone for the entire season, and he certainly deserved it, in my opinion.”

Brown is now averaging 24.8 points at a 54.4 percent clip through the first 12 games of the playoffs. He is also averaging 6.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and just under a steаl per game.

As they travel to Indiana for Game 3 of their series against the Pacers on Saturday night, the Celtics will aim to consolidate their lead.
