Moving on from his Massachusetts estate, Al Horford has owned it for almost three years. The house is back on the market for just less than $9 million. It is located on more than an acre in the suburban Brookline neighbourhood, minutes from downtown Boston. The Boston Celtics player, who is presently playing in the Eastern Conference Finals and is the highest-paid player in Latin America and a five-time NBA All-Star, spent $7.5 million for the Colonial-style mansion in the autumn of 2021, not long after it was constructed.
The three-story house is fully walled and has a large motorcourt with an attached three-car garage. It is surrounded by wrought-iron gates. Inside, the home has almost 9,300 square feet of living area with six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. High ceilings, caramel-hued hardwood floors, and sophisticated lighting are all featured. Guests are greeted by a wide Pella brand window and a contemporary glass-railed staircase set in a tiled entry foyer. On one side is the dining room and on the other is the living room. The gourmet kitchen at the back of the house features a walk-in pantry, eat-in island that seats four, elegant white cabinetry, and Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Miele appliances. There’s a climate-controlled wine cabinet, a breakfast nook, and a family room with a stylish linear fireplace integrated into a pretty accent wall right next to the kitchen. There is a junior primary suite with a balcony on the main level as well.
The main suite is located upstairs and features a walk-in closet, a dressing room, a fireplace-equipped sitting area and a spa-like bathroom with twin vanities, a standalone soaking tub and a glass-enclosed shower for two people. This floor also has a laundry area and four more en suite bedrooms. There’s a video room in the half finished basement, and the spacious back deck in the wooded grounds is ideal for entertaining and relaxing outside.
Apart from their Brookline residence with actress and former Miss Universe Amelia Vega, Horford, also goes by “Big Al,” a 37-year-old Dominican basketball star, who apparently owns a mansion in Atlanta’s Sandy Springs neighbourhood.
