Friday was a long day for Chiefs players and coaches. They went to Washington D.C. for a meeting with President Joe Biden at the White House, then returned to Kansas City the same day. Tight end Travis Kelce and a friend went to Prime Social on Friday night to relax. That’s where Chiefs fan Allyson Cheney celebrated her birthday. Kelce took note of the festivities and ordered champagne for the birthday girl. Cheney posted a video on her Instagram Story of their accidental meeting. Here’s a screen grab. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce toasted Allyson Cheney on her birthday.
Screengrab of Allyson Cheney’s Instagram story Cheney ran into Kelce for the first time over the weekend. According to her Instagram story, Cheney went to Rye in Leawood on Saturday morning and was sitting on a vacant patio when… guess who walked up? Yes, it was Kelce. “I have to tell you he was kind and chill and normal on both occasions which were less than 16 hours apart,” Cheney stated. “And they were both completely coincidental.” On Friday night, he was sat next to us in a tiny corner of Prime Social. And we clearly did not ask or signal that we wanted him to buy us drinks.
“I would never.”He saw that it was our birthday. We received a small birthday treat from the waitress. And so he realized it was our birthday. They asked what the birthday girl was drinking and sent it over, which you saw in her video. “Otherwise, he kept a low profile, minding his own business, and everyone left him alone as they should. I’m sure he had a hard day because he had been to the White House with the Chiefs earlier that day, so he had a full weekend. “I know he was a Big Slick last night.” Yes, Kelce was at the T-Mobile Centre on Saturday night for the Big Slick Party & Show, where he heard jokes about his girlfriend Taylor Swift.
But he began the day at Rye and had another surprise encounter with Cheney. “Lo and behold, up comes KillaTrav with one of his friends from the night before, and we’re both like, ‘Hey!'” He said, ‘Oh, oh, today’s your actual birthday, right? ‘Happy birthday. I said, ‘Yes, thanks Trav.’ We chatted for a minute… “So now I’m joking that Trav and I are best friends, and perhaps I should be concerned. He is plainly following me across Kansas City.
Of course, I’m kidding. But my only regret is that I did not ask him for a photo when I saw him in Rye on Saturday morning because he was just with one person. Nobody else was around. But I was just trying to be as relaxed and natural as he was, like if I were speaking with a neighbour. He was just so down to earth, nice, and kind, and I have to admit, I like him much more than I already did, which was plenty. So, it was a lovely little birthday gift, a cherry on top of a fantastic weekend.”
