Kristaps Porzingis returned to the Boston Celtics lineup for the first time since suffering a calf injury in late April, and the Unicorn dominated in the Celtics’ 107-89 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. ImagePorzingis, who was acquired by Boston in the offseason, scored 20 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and blocked three shots, and Boston had a +13 point differential with him on the field. Boston took command early, leading by 17 after the first quarter and 21 at halftime. Luka Doncic and Dallas rallied early in the third quarter, closing the gap to eight points, but Jaylen Brown and the Celtics’ defence held strong, and Boston led by 20 at the end of the period. ImagePorzingis was the star, scoring more than the whole Dallas Mavericks bench.
